INTRODUCTION

Each day becomes more necessary to innovate the learning process - learning. Consider now the students are studying in the levels, primary and secondary, are living in an era where the technologies are present in the daily activities of all areas. Currently, the primary means of processing all kinds of information it is the computer. It is imperative that everyone knows how to use this great tool, and especially, teachers should have a broad domain, and that can be applied in the teaching-learning process, and because it is a new kind of universal language of domination by large of students and should understand and master.

OBJECTIVES

• Understand, manage and develop skills in using computers and multimedia systems for teaching - learning.

• Develop strategies to foster student learning through these systems.

• Use multimedia equipment and systems for teaching - learning.

• Apply technology to the teaching of English language

With the combination of technological, educational and human is achieved further respond to the interests and needs of each individual. And that is the possibility that each student can work in person, at their own pace, making learning more effective, as advances on their actual degree of assimilation and progress, and no limit on how long class that can be devoted to practice and consolidation of a particular structure, function, etc. or developing a skill that needs strengthening, thereby contributing to a more autonomous learning.
For this reason it is worth creating and developing audio-visual materials and interactive programs that not only help the teacher to teach his class but also to encourage students to continue studying this issue becoming a magnet for students, develop their interest not easy, but the media is one of the best ways to achieve it.

The media such as television, video, CD, etc. tools have been widely used and useful in teaching English language
Now the computer gives us other interesting aspects that contribute to a more active learning and motivating students to be more interactive and alive.
On one side off-line activities and on the other, Internet, harboring a huge amount of information of various kinds, which are presented not only as text but also takes the form of images and sound, hence its enormous potential and advantages as a resource for teaching English. But it must be realized that the student's work must be guided, especially in the beginning and especially with younger students.
For this reason, it is necessary to select or develop materials that will serve students for progress in English.

ABOUT MULTIMEDIA

Multimedia is essentially a tendency to mix different information dissemination technologies, impacting several senses at once to achieve greater impact in understanding the message. It also means the ability to communicate in more ways than one.
In the twentieth century there have been two of the most powerful communication tools in history: television and computer.
Perhaps the best technological description is "the integration of two or more different media and the personal computer." For a multimedia application to be considered should integrate at least three of this five data types: text, graphics, still image, moving image (video - animation) and audio (music, voice, sounds, etc..), Which can disseminated by computer or other electronic means. It is a subject presented with luxury details. When combining multimedia elements - photographs and dazzling animation, sound mixing, video clips and informational texts - can favorably impress his audience, and if it gives you interactive control of the process, will treasure.
Multimedia stimulates the eyes, ears, fingertips and, most importantly, the head.
MULTIMEDIA Components

The term "multimedia system" involves several elements:

• convey the information itself,
• hardware and
• software for design and operation.
The information to be transmitted: The interdisciplinary aspect of design and content of a message remains essential in multimedia applications, for example, is important to have a teacher as part of the development team.
Hardware: Most computers require additional devices to operate on media data, audio and video, document scanners, video capture cards and audio reproduction are examples. Mass storage media such as CD-ROM, are also common to manipulate that data, which require a lot of requirements.
Software: The playback of a multimedia title requires a computer with specific characteristics by product developers, and multimedia extensions to a particular operating system. In some cases components are required distribution package that joined the title, known as the Authoring software: a major tool for developing multimedia system, along with associated software for drawing, presentations and others working under standards in the process of definition.

1. Reader: CD burner is a device that usually comes built into the computer, and you can read all types of CDs such as CD's of encyclopedias, music, games, educational programs, videos, movies cinema, music concerts, simulation, languages, etc.. It also allows you to record information from hard disk to CD's. This operation is used when, for example, got information from the Internet, or designed one or a few files that take up much space on your hard drive and you can not simply burn disks.
2. Speakers are devices that allow you to listen at high volume sounds, music, words, etc. which are recorded on the hard drive, CDs, or diskettes.
3. Microphone - Headset Microphones are devices that allow recording and / or hear the voice, music or any sound or hard drive or floppy disk. It also allows achieving interactive communication with others found in other Internet-connected computers anywhere in the world.
4. WebCam is a device that allows for a visual communication with people who are connected to the Internet anywhere in the world (see ao allows people who are being targeted by a webcam on other computers), making what is called the videoconference.
5. A computer printer can print text files or images are recorded on the hard disk, diskette, CD's, or directly from the Internet.
6. A computer scanner to capture all images from magazines, books, brochures, etc.. and convert them into digital files that can have different formats. The most common format because it takes up little memory space, is the JPG format.
7. Joystick is a special team that basically lever type is used to control computer games. It is also used for system applications simulations of combat aircraft flying, driving, etc.
8. Personal computer and lap top, and major media: It is considered these two teams as the main multimedia computers, especially for the process of teaching - learning the same people who implemented various programs or software and hardware components, makes it possible processing all kinds of information through multimedia system.
9. Color TV with cable connection is the second most important multimedia computer after computer. The programs are all of local television channels, as channels whose signal comes through cable. There are several types of programs. For the distinctive aspect of the teaching - learning can be considered educational type programs, languages, music and classics, history, science, etc.
10. Multimedia Projector This is an excellent and powerful device that displays on the big screen (film type), all video programs that are recorded on the hard disk of a computer, CD's, DVD's, VHS movie, etc. Furthermore allows TV viewing
11. DVD: It's a special team to visualize all kinds of movies that are recorded on CDs or Laser Disc. Like VHS, the display may be done through a multimedia projector or through a TV.
12. Sound equipment with microphones and loudspeakers games are electronic devices that let you play all kinds of sounds that are recorded on Cassettes or CDs. It also lets you listen to all the local radio programs, national and international. Also, if you connect a special microphone (with their tripods) can be used as amplifiers of the human voice, sounds of musical instruments, etc, patriotic civic ceremonies in the school.
13. Camera Camcorder is a team that can capture video images and sounds of any event, and burn video tapes, which can then be viewed through a multimedia projector. If necessary, movies recorded with this equipment can be transferred to tape for viewing movies on CDs or laser disc, for viewing by computer or TV, also with a multimedia projector.
14. Digital Camera Like a common camera allows image capture and recording in a special memory device that holds approximately 140 photos in JPG file format, which can be transferred to a computer hard disk for be viewed, processed and then proceed to print only the photos required. After the transfer of photos taken the hard drive of a computer, proceed to blank the memory of this camera, so you can get another 140 pictures, and so on, thus saving money.
15. Cell phone wireless equipment at first only allowed to communicate with other people, only through voice. Currently, mobile phones have many other functions, such as visualizing the person you're chatting, upload photos, digital games, e-mail messages, Internet access, access to central databases, etc.

Laser Discs - CD's now brought most of the work of multimedia to the classroom, are now available a vast amount of educational qualifications for different grade levels and in all areas.

Preparing presentations using PowerPoint
.-

This program is part of Microsoft Office and is usually already installed on the hard disks of most computers, you can prepare all kinds of presentations with slides, to present classes, lectures, to present research to expose certain topics of human knowledge, etc. For the development of these presentations is necessary to know the use of this program that has many virtues, among which are: text editing, laying still and moving images, free drawings editing, placement of all types of music and sound placement as well as videos such films, placing special wallpapers, placing special sound effects and movement, etc., which can be placed on each slide, the convenience of the person you edit them.

To submit files in PowerPoint designed for small or large audiences, you need to have the following elements:

• multimedia projector, which allows images on large screen
• Speakers, which enables high volume listening music and other sounds,
• Sound system and microphones that can hear the voice of the speaker in speaker so you can be heard throughout the auditorium, when it comes to the dictation of lectures.

With this procedure, the use of the explanations on the blackboard, using chalk or whiteboard markers for minimal, since the whole process a particular transaction can be seen throughout the auditorium or classroom directly into a ecram, with in easier and faster learning

Internet use for class preparation .- A very important tool for the preparation of classes, is the use of Internet, where all kinds of information and the largest database in the world, with themes out of date. Access to this information is done through a computer that is connected to the Internet and with information from (text, still images, video clips, videos, music and sounds) that are stored on computer hard disk, can prepare excellent classes in all areas, which may be presented with multimedia systems.

Using interactive educational games .- Currently there are a host of interactive educational games for students. Many of them are recorded on CD's with various levels of difficulty, and others can be obtained for free from the Internet. In some cases, it is necessary that the computer have a joystick that lets you interact with the game, which should be handled by the student.

Using video conferencing .- This is another important tool for the learning process - learning by which you can see and hear classes or directly, when these are being made in different places far from the classroom or conference room. This is possible through computers that are connected to the Internet and have video cameras or webcam, sound equipment and speakers.

Using multimedia for teaching classes of languages .- This is a particular case in which you can use multimedia systems, for the issuance of these classes. This will require that the language laboratory has a computer with internet connection and have connected a multimedia projector. As part of the learning process - learning can be used in PowerPoint presentations and some issues, but especially in films and video clips with songs in other languages, like English or French, which allows students practice of translation, interpretation, pronunciation and spelling.
A special case is the use of simple systems "Karaoke", which also permits the practice of pronunciation, translation and interpretation of other languages through video clips with songs from artists, musical and topical issues, which is quite interesting for Students

Strategies for using the computer as the main tool .- multimedia computer is considered as the ultimate multimedia tool, because it implicitly contains all the components that enable multimedia produce excellent work, especially for the teaching - learning. Will rely heavily on the creativity and innovative capacity of teachers, thereby achieving optimal use of multimedia tools that can be obtained through computer

APPLICATION OF OTHER EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS MULTIMEDIA –

TV with cable connection system .- After the computer, the next media item par excellence, is the TV, and if connected to the cable system (with which you can view programs from around the world), much better. There are various educational programs both domestic and foreign. The main educational programs that are broadcast locally are: Peruvian music of the three natural regions, basic science programs, cooking programs, history programs, programs on ecology, cultural events, programs, theater programs, political talk shows , sports, etc. The main channel programs worldwide that are through cable are: Retro Movies, music programs in several languages, medicine and health programs, programs in zoology, universal history programs, cooking shows, craft programs, crafts programs, science programs, future programs, sports of all kinds, etc..

Combining Multimedia Projector, DVD, camcorder and audio equipment with loudspeakers .- By combining these elements, are also achieved excellent multimedia type presentations. You can design all kinds of movies that are recorded on CDs, laser discs, cassettes directly from film cameras to be displayed in a classroom or in an auditorium with lots of participants.

Digital Camera Uses .- typically used to take photos of school events, or social activities. These photos are transferred directly to computer hard disk and can be prepared research papers, PowerPoint presentations, and even to be published on the Internet directly through the school website.

Cell Phone Uses .- Currently there are multimedia phones, in addition to voice transmission, are able to transmit text and still images or moving images. For use in classes, besides being an excellent tool for communication between people, can be used to send text messages, access to certain Internet databases, such as joining the RUC SUNAT to find a specific company or to enter the SAT to determine traffic tickets or records of drivers, or for particular cases that can access the databases store a specific company to find out the stock of a certain product, etc. Can be also used to display a view snapshots of places or events you are witnessing the person who will convey a message, which can be viewed even through a computer that could also enlarge the image through a multimedia projector that can be seen and heard by a particular audience.

Uses of the Walkman and Discman .- For these elements to become a multimedia tool must be combined with other ancillary equipment. The most widely used supplement is "a book that contains images with their titles. The most practical use is being read story books or other books whose contents are recorded on CD's, at the time to listen, follow the sequence of a file containing images with their titles and are related Reading directory you're listening.

Strategies for using other computers and multimedia systems in the College .-

To develop other multimedia type work (combination of text, images and sounds), you can also use equipment and systems that are scattered, but uniting them, creating the Multimedia. For example, in a patriotic civic ceremony at the College, can be used concurrently with microphones audio equipment to achieve sound effects, printed panels, to achieve the presentation of texts and images, so as to provide a multimedia presentation. The following describes some applications of multimedia systems and equipment, other than the computer:

As a particular case should be noted that only has signal cable televisions in the Language Lab and Screening Room (which seats 200 people).
In the Language Laboratory is used primarily to screen films in other languages, for purposes of practicing writing, pronunciation, translation and interpretation, and the Screening Room, to spend several educational films, according to local channel programming and channels that come through Cable.

Applications connected to Cable TV and DVD .- The majority of classrooms in primary and secondary schools have connected televisions to DVD which are used for projecting educational films according to the programming of TV channels, for which has monthly magazine containing daily schedule of all channels. It also is used to pass are recorded movies on videotape to CD's.
Sound Equipment Applications with microphones, speakers and panels .- The use for the presentation of school civic activities, making multimedia presentations combining excellent voice and music through loe sound equipment with microphones and speakers, figures through direct participation of teachers and students, and text through the panels that contain messages related to the ceremony, which also includes some enlarged photographs or posters.

Applications camcorder and digital camera .- These teams use them to capture images of school civic activities, as well as, activities that take place outside of school, social events, development of research activities undertaken by students , development of special classes, lectures given and received, etc.. which was subsequently used to develop multimedia presentations using PowerPoint.

Cell Phone Use .- in our school, a fair amount of students have cell phones, which are normally not used during school hours unless it is to do research with certain teachers who previously requested the authorization for use in their hours of classes. The research work referred to, are related for example to produce commercial task, in which it is necessary to make phone calls to vendors to provide product information, to perform simulations of online communication on certain activities; to explain the use of options that have these phones in different models and suppliers, etc.

CONCLUTION
